Montessori shelfie for a 1 year old

It's Shelfie tiiiiime! I will be going into detail on what our current shelf rotation looks like. I will also be including Amazon links to either the exact item or something similar! As an Amazon Associate, I earn a small commission if you purchase anything from the link below.

Going from top left to bottom right:

  • Cube 1- Wooden stacker toy. In true Montessori fashion, I undid most of the toy so Henry would have to figure it out for himself. I would typically put this all on a tray for easy transport, but I don't have a tray small enough for those cubes.

Henry's was a birthday gift, and it's from Odin Parker. I found this one on Amazon that is much cheaper but not as cute ;)

  • Cube 2- Snap n' learn alphabet alligators. I only set out a few to avoid Henry getting too overstimulated. He obviously doesn't match them based on the letters yet, but it is a great introduction to color while also helping him practice pulling apart and pushing together.

  • Cube 3- Musical toys. Henry still isn't into musical toys very much, but I still want to keep them in the rotation. We have this wooden xylophone and this set of instruments.

  • Cube 4- Spike the Fine Motor Hedgehog. This toy is currently Henry's FAVORITE toy! I keep one or two pegs in so he can get the idea, and then I keep the rest in a small box. Henry is definitely a fan of fine motor toys, and this one is a great deal!

  • Cube 5- Montessori Coin Box. Another fine motor toy and another one of Henry's favorites. He always takes the box insert out, so he hasn't gotten the full grasp of the toy, but he loves putting the coins in the slot.

  • Cube 6- Basket of balls. This stays on Henry's shelf pretty much every time. I mostly use this to redirect Henry when he starts to throw things that aren't meant to be thrown. We have this set of balls from amazon, and then I have a few random foam balls from Hobby Lobby.

  • Cube 7- Bead maze. This was a gift from Henry's first bday, and he really likes it! I was shocked at how well he could move the beads around. We will have to see how long his fascination lasts, but I think I'll be rotating this toy out sooner than later.

That sums up our first shelfie! What did you think?? Feel free to comment below or shoot me a message on Instagram if you have any questions, or need any recommendations for toys.
